A Note From Ankita - Pure And Purple Founder

When I first reached out to Hugh about selling his products in Singapore, he could have easily agreed, but instead, he offered a more honest and generous suggestion: "You can source directly from India for a better price." His integrity and selflessness left a lasting impression on me, showing that he’s not driven by greed, but by a genuine desire to help. This authenticity is what made me eager to collaborate with him.

Hi, I’m Ankita, the founder of Purple & Pure, and I’d like to share a little bit about why I started this business.

I was born and raised in a small village in India, where I grew up surrounded by nature. We relied on natural resources for almost everything—whether it was fresh vegetables from the garden, water from the well, or simple products made from sustainable materials. Living close to the earth instilled in me a deep respect for nature and the environment, and these values have stayed with me throughout my life.

When my son was born, I became even more aware of how much waste we were generating in our modern lives, especially with all the packaging and disposable items that seem unavoidable. It was frustrating to see how much plastic and single-use materials were piling up, and I began to feel a strong sense of responsibility to make better choices—not just for myself, but for the world he would grow up in. I wanted him to experience the same connection to nature that I had growing up and to understand the importance of sustainability.

That’s when I discovered seed paper—a beautiful, eco-friendly material made from cotton scraps that can be planted to grow flowers, herbs, or even vegetables. The idea that a piece of paper could have a second life and help regenerate nature was so inspiring to me. I realized that cotton seed paper, which is both biodegradable and made from recycled materials, could be a perfect way to offer people something beautiful and meaningful, while also reducing waste.

So, I founded Purple & Pure to create sustainable, handmade stationery that’s not only visually stunning but also environmentally responsible. Each card, invitation, or note is made from cotton seed paper, which you can plant after use, allowing it to grow into something new.

But there's more—at Purple & Pure, we are also committed to social impact. Our products are crafted by talented underprivileged women who are provided with fair wages, skill development, and a supportive work environment. By partnering with these women, we not only create beautiful stationery but also empower them to build a better future for themselves and their families.

Through this, I hope to inspire others to think more consciously about their choices and to embrace a more sustainable and ethical way of living.

For me, Purple & Pure is more than just a business—it’s my way of passing on the values I grew up with to my son. It’s about creating a future where we respect the earth, uplift communities, and live in harmony with nature, one seed at a time.

Thank you for supporting this journey with me!

Warmly,
Ankita
